So, you bought yourself a fancy new DSLR camera that shoots amazing HD video. You've got that spiffy new computer with a fresh copy of iMovie or Windows Movie Maker on it. Does this mean you are ready to make good quality videos? Possibly. But not likely. Unless you really know what you are doing. I have been telling people for years that a good carpenter can build a house with a $10 hammer. But just because you have a $200 hammer, does not mean you can build a house. A good promotional video, corporate video, or training video requires so much more than a nice camera and some editing software to produce. It requires a lot of skill, knowledge, and of course experience. At Point of View Media, we could make a pretty darn good video using a cell phone camera and Movie Maker if we wanted to. How? We know what we are doing. Great lighting, shot composition, camera techniques, editing techniques, good audio...all of these factors are what make a great video. The camera is only a small part of the entire equation. Prices on high quality photo and video equipment have come down drastically over the last few years. This makes these products more accessible to everyone...not just us pros. Just go to a wedding nowadays, or a popular tourist destination, and look at the number of people carrying around big DSLR cameras with expensive lenses on them! Now, don't get me wrong. Professionals like us are glad that prices are down! It has allowed us to provide the best quality possible, for much less than we had to pay just a few years ago. However, it has also started to dilute our industry in general. There are many people out there now that are very new to the business and frankly aren't providing good products. They bought one of these cameras, made a couple of home movies, and now they think they are professional video producers. Most of them have other jobs that they do during the week, and make their "professional" videos on the weekends! So, what I am getting at is that you need to be careful when looking for a video production company for your next corporate or promotional video. There are many options to choose from. Some are very expensive, some are very cheap, some might even be free. But please remember the old adage "you get what you pay for". At Point of View, corporate video is what we do, all day, every day. We have been doing it for 13 years and we love it. We don't work other jobs. We have the knowledge, we have the experience, and yes, we have the equipment! One thing we do not have is high prices. We feel we are very affordable for the quality of products that we offer. Just check out our video samples page to see what we can do. And do not be afraid to contact us for more information. You may be surprised at what a good quality video will cost (Hint: it's probably less than you think!). You are proud of your product or service. You should showcase it and promote it the best way you can. So when your friend, or neighbor, or nephew says that they can make you video...think twice. A great video still takes a professional! Just for your viewing pleasure, here's an example of what you could end up with if you do not hire a professional! And here's what you can get when you hire Point of View Media.

"How much does it cost to get a video made?"
This is a question I hear ALL the time. Unfortunately, there is no quick and easy answer. My response is usually "How much does it cost to build a house?". No home builder in the world would give you a straight answer to this question. They would respond with a hundred questions back to you, starting with:
Usually, the best way to start when building a house would be to determine your budget. From there, the other questions will start to answer themselves. The same is true for your corporate or promotional video project. We can make a great video for as low as $1000, or we can make a fantastic video for tens of thousands of dollars. If you come to POV for a corporate video, it is so important for us, as a contractor, to have a least a rough idea of what your budget is. The reason being is that we don't want to waste anyone's time - yours or ours. If you have a budget of $500, we may not be able to help you. So there is no point in us discussing your project any further. The price for a video project can vary based on many factors. Some questions that we would ask include:
These are just a few questions that we would need answered before we could give you an accurate quote. As I stated earlier, we can do a basic video for as little as $1000 that will look professional and top-notch. But if your project requires some of the more complex items I mentioned, it will cost more. One thing is for sure though. You do not want to skimp out on your promo video. If you only have $1000 to spend, or if you have $10,000 to spend, contact a professional (like us!). Your promotional video is the first impression that some people will get of you or your business. You wouldn't hand out a home made business card would you? So why would you try to make your own video? Here's an example of what we could produce for you. Contact us today for more information. So you don't think your business would benefit from an online promotional or corporate video? You might just wanna think again.
Why? Well, many marketing experts agree that online video could be the top marketing trend for 2013 and beyond. Using video as a tool in your online marketing kit has many advantages. For example: Online video makes it easier to generate more content. Online video opens companies up to new marketing channels. Online video extends the life of webinars and events. Online video increases the effectiveness of email marketing campaigns. Chances are good that one or more of your competitors are using video to their advantage to grow their business. And if they aren't yet, they will be very soon. Online Video Statistics: 90% of internet content is video 50% of mobile wireless traffic is video 1 Billion unique visitors to YouTube monthly Audiences retain upwards of 50% more information from video than from any other medium. So, it's time to get on top of this growing trend. Use video to promote your business online before your competition beats you to it and makes you look like (*eek*) a follower! In his article at conversionxl.com, writer Peep Laja talks about the importance of video quality in holding your viewers attention. By quality, he means not only production quality (which, of course, we can provide for you!), but also content quality. If a video is hard to watch, you will lose viewers right from the start. Bad production can make a video hard to watch, but so can bad content - awkward on-screen talent, poor writing, wrong message, etc. If you are promoting a product or service, you want the world to know about it! Maybe use humour or beautiful imagery, but somehow you need to keep your viewers attention. Peep's article has some great examples of videos that were done right. So right, that you almost forget you are being sold something. READ THE ARTICLE HERE Don't skimp on quality. Believe me, it does make a difference. We can help you with the hard stuff so you can concentrate on your business and selling your products or services. Here is one of the best promotional videos I have seen in awhile: |
